Work Principle
For normal central transmission after the natural gas is recovered from the well, oil/water separation is desired for the natural gas, for which it is important to select suitable segregator. When natural gas contains plenty of oil and water, three-phase segregator is usually used. When natural gas contains plenty of oil or water, gas/liquid two-phase segregator is usually used.
The gas flow coming in the segregator is a high-speed turbulent mixture of gas/liquid. The density of gas differs from that of the liquid. By utilizing the density difference and by means of gravity, centrifugal force and collision process, maintain a certain temperature and pressure for sufficient time so that the gas phase and liquid phase are balanced, liquid drops separated and settled and the gas escapes via separation, thus achieving gas/liquid separation.
Structure
·Inlet zone (pre-separation zone)
A carefully designed inlet device of “momentum absorber” fast and effectively overcomes the inertia action of fluids entering the vessel so that the gas/liquid flows obtain natural gravity separation within the vessel dimensions and at normal flow velocity.
·Settlement zone (secondary separation zone)
The dimensions of the segregator resulting from accurate calculation allow the gas/liquid flows to stay in the segregator long enough for the settlement of the liquid drops.
·Demisting zone
Demister is provided in front of the outlet of gas so that the mist forms larger liquid drops and is separated from the gas by collision and gathering.
· Liquid detention zone (liquid collection zone)
After the gathering and separation, the liquid is subject to a certain period of detention time so that the free gas in the liquid escapes.
· Outlet zone
The liquid level and interface controller controls the discharge of the liquid to prevent entrained liquid particles.
Main Features
·Safety
Pressure controller is provided at the gas outlet to maintain the stability of the operating pressure of the segregator.
Safety valve is provided to allow the segregator to release the over-pressure when it closes due to malfunction of the system at the gas/liquid outlet.
The blowdown port is so provided that it removes water, solids and other impurities in the segregator.
· Serialization
Supercontrol Corporation has developed varieties of segregators with wide applicable range, compact construction and easy installation by incorporating advanced technologies at home and abroad.
Series products are available from 10´104~50´104Nm3/d depending on the volume to be handled. Liquid droplets at 50-100mm can be separated.
· Automatization
Liquid volume is automatically detected and separated and the output automatically regulated as needed by users.
Automatic/manual liquid level for discharge, automatic measurement of liquid volume, local display and remote output.
Automatic liquid level control, and setting is performed as needed.
